Poetic glance
BY
POETESS MAAYA DEV

Sometimes…
You flash in front
Of my creative eyes
Forcing me to look at you
With surprised gazes
Sometimes….
I immerse in your
Beautiful thoughts
And miss to grab you
From my poetic glance
Sometimes….
I try to pluck
To knit a beautiful poem,
But often fails to bring
Your authentic beauty in it
Oh my words…
You stand in distant
Wobbling and trembling
In a state of stable muteness
The versatile alphabets torn asunder
A heart beat skipped in volatile shadow

Poetry is an art of scribbling, reading and also reciting, overall
entertaining like any other form of literary art of the human language which
are being used for its aesthetic qualities in addition to, or instead of its imaginary
and semantic content.
Generally, it consists of verbal or literary oriented
writing works in which language is commonly used in a manner that is felt by
its own authors and to the audience or reader to differ from prose.
In poetry, more than in other forms of art of writing, there
is an approach that you must wait for inspiration to hit. This seems to be true
particularly among beginners, but I have seen this leaning in those who have
been writing poetry for years as well. I believe that there are two problems
with this attitude. The first is that you can wait a very long time for
inspiration to strike. The second is that when it does strike, it is likely to
come from your subconscious.
One of the ways to get around the dilemma of waiting is to
put yourself in a poetry frame of mind, which can be as easy to do as reading
poetry that you like, or sometimes poetry you don't like. Keeping a varied
poetry library increases the chances that you will find something to motivate,
sometimes inspiration comes from just one phrase and sometimes it is the whole
idea. Occasionally I am inspired by the rhythm of the language.
Reading poetry expands poetry horizons. You see many
things that poetry can be written about and it breaks you out of your shell of
thought. It also increases the myriad of images and ideas in your subconscious.
The number of people who write poetry but don't read it is astounding, and you
can usually tell who they are when you read their work.
Poetess Maaya Dev’s poems are marvelous, hence invites applause
from her most valuable readers. Perhaps the most significant element of her
verses can be summarized as implied meaning and internal flow of rhythm. Please
accept my congratulations for releasing such a beautiful anthology of your
recent verses.
