POETRY ICONS: POETESS MOU SIRCAR'S PAGE: PAGE 1

SLUMBER

BY
POETESS MOU SIRCAR

I woke up from my slumber,
With a smiling heart and face,
My mind is still brimming fresh,
With previous night's frivolous foolishness!
Arms across each other,
And Loosely latched up legs,
We slept together threesome,
Like a sea shell with a precious lil' pearl within!
The small limbs sometimes,
Falling on Your face like a tight slap...
Sometimes they hug Me so tight,
That I feel like a Beetelnut in a nutcracker to be cracked !
Little legs go on playing left and right... Till they find a proper crevice,
Landing on chest or tummy with a thump or thud,
It brings us back from our sleep with a uhh-ahh and ouch!
The small head at last... when is finally asleep,
The body slumps slowly like an empty rucksack and breaths a heavy sigh!
The baby smell still lingers in her tiny frame,
The silken hair feels feathery as it nudges to find right space,
Contently I let her sleep so that I can be near,
That time I feel so lucky and loved knowing... she's still all mine!
